FORMstudio shares plans for countryside eco-house

Our innovative design enables a compact eco-house to blend seamlessly into the Lancashire hills. The two-bedroom house will cut into the landscape and will feature an extensive green roof at the level of the public footpath, making it invisible from public vantage points but offering a view across the open countryside and the biological heritage site of the nearby creek.  

Exposed walls will be finished in local stone. The east elevation, which has views down the hillside, will be glazed with fixed and sliding panels and the overhang of the roof will provide solar shading. An outer layer of louvred screening protects the bedrooms from onlookers and provides shading from the morning sun. The south elevation is glazed with fixed and sliding panels opening onto a terrace.
