Narrow House, Covent Garden, London Completed

FORMstudio’s conversion and extension of a run-down former office building in the West End of London has been completed. The narrow deep plan of this tall terraced late 19th century building was ill-suited for its previous use as offices. We therefore recommended a change of use to our developer client, and Planning Permission was granted, contrary to local policy, for the creation of a luxurious 4-bedroom town house. Subtle changes to the section of the building have created external spaces and brought natural light deep into the plan. Fastidious detailing and a limited palette of high quality materials, together with a fire-engineered approach to layout have helped to create a calm restful interior with a good spatial flow between the 6 floors of accommodation.
