Lynton Road

This brownfield site in Southwark, London, previously containing a single storey warehouse, had a history of refused planning applications for redevelopment by previous owners. FORMstudio gained consent for this new 3-storey building containing four townhouses, with the upper storey set back to provide front terraces and a barrel-vault roof.

The scheme occupies the full area of the site. Internal courtyards bring light and air into the houses, with folding/sliding glazed screens opening up the ground floor rooms directly onto these spaces. Carefully designed screening prevents overlooking whilst allowing in sunlight and ventilation.
